The jars are very well made. I'd rather not use chalk in my food storage, but a pencil works okay. I just need to hold it to a bright light to read the pencil marks.
AWESOME plates. They look so modern on the table, stack nicely in the cupboard, and are easy to clean. No scratches either. A major upgrade from my previous ceramic glazed plates. :-)
